Charlie Haynes Obituary

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7-8

As we travel through this world, we will encounter many trials and tribulations, but we must lean and trust in God to work out all our problems and situations. These encounters teach us how to pray and it increases our faith in our Saviour. There’s never a tear drop, that God doesn’t see or a cry that he doesn’t hear. He even knows when his sparrows have fallen from the tree and needs some special help to get up. There’s never a moment when God doesn’t care or never a time when He won’t hear our prayers! It is during these times, when he determines when our earthy life is over and how much pain we can bear.

Charlie J. Haynes earthly life began on June 1 , 1961when God blessed the late Sammie Lee Haynes Sr. and the late Mary Helen Palmer with a unique and amazing child in Washington County, Georgia.

Charlie Haynes entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center, Sandersville, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at T.J. Elder Community Center, Sandersville, GA at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tracy Wheeler Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Sandersville City Cemetery.

Charlie J. Haynes earthly life began on June 1, 1961, when God blessed the late Sammie Lee Haynes Sr. and the late Mary Helen Palmer with a unique and amazing child in Washington County, Georgia.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Haynes and Rose Bud Roberson; brother, Sammie Lee Haynes Jr.; niece, Yolanda Jones and nephews, Enrico Haynes and Eric Haynes.

On January 29, 2026, Jesus sent his angels down to earth to claim and retrieve one of his rare gems. Charlie drifted from this life leaving a legacy of love and lifelong friendships.

As a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, he was caring and always willing to do whatever he could.

For he was the true epitome of a "jack of all trades." From operating heavy equipment, landscaping to cleaning fish.

Once you told him what you needed done, his reply was "Ok, go on now, leave me alone" and "I got it." On any given morning or evening, you could find Charlie taking his daily stroll walking slow with his hand behind his back; as if he was in deep meditation.

During his sixty-four years of earthly living, Charlie was blessed to share his bountiful love with numerous individuals. He was grateful for the role each of these individuals played in his life, so he leaves behind to remember the beautiful memories they shared.

Charlie leaves to cherish his memory, children, Victoria (Shondale) Collins, Sandersville, GA, and Lester Freeman, Milledgeville, GA; grandson, Quez Collins; sister, Elmorris Haynes; brothers, Oscar Haynes and Marshall (Gloria) Haynes; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

His warmth, generosity and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
